1. Who we are

AskTzu is operated by Ting Zhang as an independent developer. Our Merchant of Record is Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd), which handles payments, tax, invoices, and refunds on our behalf. Charges on your statement may appear under "PADDLE.NET* ASKTZU".

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

3. What the Service is — and is not

The Service is a decision-support and educational tool. It combines classical wisdom traditions, modern decision-making methods, and your own recorded context to help you think through choices. The Service is not professional advice. It is not medical, psychological, legal, financial, or tax advice, and it does not provide therapy or counseling. You remain solely responsible for your decisions. See our Disclaimer.

4. AI-generated content

Guidance is generated by artificial intelligence and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your situation. Always apply your own judgment and consult qualified professionals for matters with medical, legal, or financial consequences.

5. Accounts

You sign in with your email and a password, or a one-time email link. You are responsible for keeping access to your email secure and for all activity under your account. One account per person.

6. Subscription plans and billing

• Free tier: 3 free questions, no card required.
• Monthly plan: $12.90 per month for founding members (first purchase within 7 days of signup); standard rate $15.90 per month.
• Quarterly plan: $29.90 per quarter for founding members; standard rate $39.90 per quarter.
• Annual plan: $69.90 per year for founding members; standard rate $89.90 per year.
• Member usage: every paid plan includes 200 questions per calendar month (resetting on the 1st at 00:00 UTC), with a limit of 30 questions per day (resetting at 00:00 UTC). Unused questions do not carry over.
• A Cup of Tea: an optional one-time purchase of $9.90 for 150 additional questions, valid for 30 days from purchase. It is not a subscription and does not renew. Tea questions are used only after the monthly allowance, and the daily limit still applies. A Cup of Tea can be refunded in full within 14 days of purchase if none of its questions have been used. If a Cup of Tea purchase is refunded, its remaining questions are cancelled.
• Upgrades: you may upgrade from monthly to quarterly or annual, or from quarterly to annual, at any time from the Membership page. The unused part of your current plan is credited and the prorated difference is charged immediately; the amount is shown before you confirm. To move to a shorter plan, email support@asktzu.com.
• The rate you subscribe at is locked for the life of your subscription, including later plan switches within your rate table; we never raise the price on an active subscription.
• Payments, VAT/sales tax, invoices, and refunds are processed by Paddle as Merchant of Record.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel any time from the Membership page, which opens Paddle's secure billing portal, or by emailing support@asktzu.com; cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds: monthly and quarterly subscriptions may be fully refunded within 7 days of any payment; annual subscriptions within 14 days of any payment. Request a refund by emailing support@asktzu.com. EU/UK statutory withdrawal rights apply to all plans.
• App Store subscriptions: if you subscribe through the App Store, Apple charges your Apple ID and handles renewal, cancellation and refunds under its own terms; manage or cancel in your Apple ID settings → Subscriptions. Your membership works the same on the web and in the app.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service to harm yourself or others;
• seek or generate instructions for violence, self-harm, or illegal acts;
• misrepresent the AI as a licensed professional;
• scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell the Service;
• upload others' personal data without their permission;
• use the Service if you are under 18.

We may suspend accounts that violate these rules. If you encounter harmful content, report it to support@asktzu.com — we review every report.

8. Your content

Your recorded decisions and conversations belong to you. You grant us a limited license to process them solely to operate and improve the Service. You can export or delete them at any time (see our Privacy Policy).

9. Intellectual property

The Service's content, principle cards, prompts, brand, and software are owned by the operator of AskTzu. Classical source texts quoted in the Service are in the public domain; attributions are provided in good faith. Modern methods are referenced by attribution, not reproduction.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that guidance will be correct, complete, or fit for your purpose, and we make no promise about the outcomes of your decisions — only about the quality of the decision process. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violation of these Terms, with notice where practicable.

12. Changes

We may update the Service and these Terms. Material changes will be notified at least 14 days in advance; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator's country of residence, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
